Pastoral Search

STRC is looking for a Senior Pastor

Pastoral Search Committee

St. Thomas Reformed Church is currently accepting applications for Senior Pastor. If you would like to apply and are a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the RCA or a formula of agreement church, please complete the STRC Pre-screening questionnaire and email a cover letter with your profile to join@strchurch.org. These are the first steps in our application process.

Please give us 7-10 days to acknowledge your profile and/or questionnaire. We are a volunteer-led team and will work diligently to communicate with every person who contacts us.

STRC Search Process Update

October 4, 2025

Our Pastoral Search Process has three steps.

  1. APPLY: Complete the initial Pre-Screen Questionnaire and send us your RCA Minister Profile (or the like) and a cover letter to join@strchurch.org (Resumes are welcome too).
  2. INTERVIEW: We will communicate with all applicants to let them know if they will become candidates and be given an interview. Interviews for STRC are a process of mutual discovery, and we are planning to meet with a healthy pool of qualified candidates over Zoom. The anticipated timeline is October 2025 - December 2025.
  3. SELECTION: Our selection process will be a prayerful discernment of the person we believe God is calling to lead our congregation. It may involve Zoom interviews with a variety of STRC leaders and congregants. It may include a visit to St. Thomas. Our finalist(s) will get the opportunity to preach and be granted in-person interviews before a call will be extended to them. The anticipated timeline is January 2026 - February 2026.

Ideally, we would love to extend a call and have our next pastor begin in March 2026 and overlap with the transitional minister before his contract concludes on March 20, 2026, so he can onboard and equip the next pastor for success in their new role.

You can learn more about STRC Worship at our YouTube Channel. You may read the pastoral reflections of our transitional minister, Rev. Nate DeWard, at his Substack.

Our Pastoral Search Team will be working hard and fervently praying. We ask that you join our hearts in prayer as we seek the Lord's guidance in this search process.
