WELCOME!
Message from our Pastor:
Thank you for taking the time to visit the St Thomas Reformed Church website! I want to let you know a little bit about us by sharing with you our aim, which is to be a growing, relevant, active, caring, compelling, and empowering place for everyone that comes through our doors. We want everyone to grow in the knowledge, grace and hope that is found in Jesus Christ. So, if you attend one of our services you will notice that we are a historic church with a heart for the contemporary world.
Everyone is welcome, and we pray that you will find a place here with us. There is no requirement of how a person should dress for worship or what your faith background happens to be. Here at the St. Thomas Reformed Church (STRC) we are committed to welcoming all people into the life of our church community and affirm the beauty, value, and gifts of all people. These commitments are not subject to a person's color, race, ethnicity, place of origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, relationship status (single, married, separated, divorced), socioeconomic situation, or a person's mental, physical, or emotional health or ability.
All people are welcome to participate fully in the life of our faith community. So we welcome you! Membership is conditioned only upon a person's faith in Jesus Christ. We look forward to having you join us for worship!
May the Lord bless you, keep you and make His face shine on you.
-Pastor Jeff
Who we are | Mission
Here at the St. Thomas Reformed Church (STRC), we care about one thing more than anything else, Jesus Christ. Our Mission is to Surrender to God through Jesus Christ with the help of the Holy Spirit, Teach God’s Word, Reflect and Sharing God’s Love while Carrying forth God’s Will
WE CELEBRATE A HISTORIC FAITH
We are a historic church- founded in 1660. And our faith is rooted in Christ Jesus. We share this faith with all believers everywhere and at all times. A faith that spans millennia.
WE PRACTICE A PRESENT LOVE
We work out our faith in this present world by living out the commandment to Love God and Others.
WE FIND COMFORT IN A FUTURE HOPE
We desire that everyone would share the assurance that God is working all things for good, bringing all creation to restoration and union with Him.
Where we come from | History
The St. Thomas Reformed Church has been continuously worshipping for 360 years. The church was founded in 1660 and originally called the Dutch Reformed Church. The first building was built in the 1670’s and was in use until 1731. In the 1740’s a new church was built that burned in 1804, was rebuilt, and destroyed by a fire in 1806. Our current building was completed in 1848 and resembles a Roman temple with its large columns and classical revival style architecture.
Where we're headed | Vision and Values
What's the bottom line? More than ever, the St. Thomas Reformed Church is committed to fostering a family built around faith, hope, love and grace. Faith in Christ. Hope for the future resurrection. Love for all of God’s creation. Grace and forgiveness in Christ. As we move forward as a church family, inclusion and belonging remain at the center of who we are as followers of Christ. We are a church and faith community dedicated to loving God by inviting others into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ; and by serving one another.
